It seems to be pretty much a two-horse race between Reform UK and Plaid Cymru.
I am not interested in voting for a particular political party. I always try and find out where the candidates stand on the number one issue of abortion, and prioritise that over all secondary issues, as local candidates will usually have a free vote in the Senate or Parliament on moral issues. I noticed an interesting thing on Facebook on St. David's Day. Saint David is the Patron Saint of Wales and his Feast falls on the 1st of March, which is the date on which he died in 589. He was canonised in the 12th century by Pope Callistus II.On the Feast of Saint David this year I saw that Reform UK Wales, the Welsh Conservatives and Wales Green Party on Facebook, merely wished people a Happy St. David's Day. Welsh labour said, “Stronger. Fairer. Proudly Welsh. The next chapter for Wales begins – Happy St David’s Day.” Which I think was a little bit of campaigning using their electoral phraseology, but to be expected. The Welsh Liberal Democrats were also not content to just say, Happy Saint David’s Day, they said “Happy St David’s Day! Let’s celebrate everything that makes Wales special today – our communities, our culture and our language. Wales forever”. Again, a little bit more than was necessary. But when comparing the above with Plaid Cymru’s Facebook post that day, it pales into insignificance. To celebrate Saint David's Day Plaid Cymru posted, “Saint David asked us to do the little things, so vote Plaid Cymru on 7 May. Happy Saint David’s Day.” To be honest, this is nothing short of outrageous for Saint David actually said, "Arglwyddi, frodyr a chwiorydd, byddwch lawen; a chedwch eich ffydd a’ch cred, a gwnewch y pethau bychain a welsoch ac a glywsoch gennyf i." Which in English would be, "Lords, brothers and sisters, be joyful; keep your faith and your creed, and do the little things that you have seen and heard me do."
So in fact, the little things Saint David wants us to do, are the things that people had seen and heard him do. And one thing that is sure, is that he never voted for Plaid Cymru, or for any of the Parties standing in this forthcoming election! Plaid Cymru is an extremely pro-abortion political party, I'm not aware of any of its key figures taking a different stance on this issue. It is ironic then to think that Saint David, who was conceived in rape, when his mother Saint Non was assaulted, could be hijacked by such a Party!
It is a simple thing in this election for people in Wales to find out where the candidates at the top of the Party lists for their area stand on the issue of abortion. And then do as Saint David said, and not as Plaid Cymru misquote him "Lords, brothers and sisters, be joyful; keep your faith and your creed, and do the little things that you have seen and heard me do." There is no doubt that Saint David as a Catholic would have voted for a candidate who was 100% in favour of life with no exceptions. Saint David's life was not worth any less than mine or yours because his mother had been raped, no matter how often we hear pro-abortionists abuse rape victims by using them to push for abortion in all cases. His mother is a Saint and he is a Saint. And so keep his faith and his creed. Vote Pro-Life.
